Sentence Builders

Hopscotch Game

This is a whole class outside activity. The basic idea is to split the class into three equally sized teams. Give them 15 or so minutes to translate the sentences as they complete the hopscotch, the team which gets furthest through their list of words wins. Each list of words belongs to each differently designed hopscotch layout. So you can set a times through each course, and have rotate teams to try and beat each others scores. It is a pain is the ass to draw on the ground, but fun to play.

Denny the Densha Kotobazuru Cards V.1

So these are my sentence builder cards that go along with my Denny the Densha book. The great thing about these cards is that they only really fit together one way, so it kinda prevents kids from stuffing it up too badly. There are probably some combination of things which will not work, but it’s mostly correct. Kotobazuru is a completely made up word by me btw - Kotoba + pazuru! Also consider downloading my origami box to hold them, see below.

Denny Origami Box

A fun Denny themed origami box to put your Kotobazuru cards in.

Plain Kotobazuru Cards

These are the boring original Kotobazuru cards. While they aren’t as pretty, they’re probably more practical as they’re smaller and cover more.
